Welcome to an hour of Listening Lyrics, right here on KDRT 95.7 FM in Davis, California.
No musical passports required. Folk can sit next to funk, jazz can dance with rock, and a singer-songwriter might end up sharing a park bench with a reggae band. Listening Lyrics is your invitation to escape the noise of the day and enter a world of elaborate sounds, unexpected discoveries, and songs that have something to say.
This is the kind of journey only commercial-free community radio can provide.
So close your eyes. Open your ears. Relax your mind. Join me, Pieter Pastoor, as we send color to your ears and wander through the vast landscape of music and lyrics—the grand meeting place of rhythm, imagination, and the remarkable human ability to create art. Whether it's a whisper, a roar, a groove, or a melody you've never heard before, it all belongs here.
Remember: Real Music. Real Community. Real Good Music.

Listening Lyrics Oct 10th, 2014 with the HEY-NOWS!Fri, 10/10/2014 - 5:05pm | Pieter PastoorThe HEY-NOWS, This well known local band finally makes their appearance on LISTENING LYRICS and we are thrilled. Formed by singer-songwriters Lee & Roger, the group features Andrew Sisco (bass) & Nicolo Scozzari (guitars, vocals). Lee & Roger are both veterans of the Northern California rock music scene, having recorded and played in bands from Sacramento to Redding. Since its formation, the group has been busy playing cafe's/coffeehouses, fundraisers, wineries, and a myriad of other venues & events in the greater Sacramento region. The Hey-Nows! are an acoustic-electric band that weave Power Pop melodies within an Americana landscape to create a new, engaging sound for listeners of all ages. Mixing obscure gems (Big Star, Badfinger, Velvet Underground) with well-known classics (The Band, America, The Beatles), their own original compositions are right at home. |

What can I say; I LOVED THIS SHOW!
Additionally, I'll let you in on a secret, this was the first time that I listened to, not one, but two complete Rap songs -- and enjoyed them. :)
Loved the show and thoroughly enjoyed Cory. Tell him what Michael J Fox once said; "I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business." He was excellent.
the October 3rd show was way too short. What a mellow and superbly classy hour that just blew by. Thanks!
