For Opa, from Wyatt, on Listening Lyrics, Dec. 30, 2022

A few weeks ago I was in Portland visiting my daughter and her family. While there, I drove my  grandson to high school every morning. He would hop into the car and link his phone to my radio, and off we went, listening to his music. Wyatt is 15, and I really liked his music selections. I asked him to send me some of his playlist, and that is what you will hear on this hour of Listening Lyrics. It's a rather sophisticated selection of music old and new, and perfect for my last show in 2022.

Thank you, Wyatt. Happy New Year all,

The Next Noel with Billy Larkin, on Listening Lyrics, Dec. 23, 2022

This holiday CD is a rare beauty. There's such depth to this music, a limitless well of music and sounds. It defies a genre, but let's just say it's a mix of jazz, electronica, and classical. Ekimi is a duo originally from Cincinnati, comprised of Billy Larkin (piano and synthesizer) and Chris Dahlgren (bass, electronic sarod and percussions). Both Billy and Chris are classically trained. Billy joins me in the studio to share his thoughts on this truly wonderful CD.

Bapu Vaitla guest hosts show about community and radio, on Listening Lyrics, Dec. 2, 2022

Community radio has an important role in providing the music and comments that are the fabric of what makes a community thrive. He discusses this topic with guest Pieter Pastoor, the show's usual host, in between music that reflects their thoughts.

Music, discussions and the love of community make this hour a special treat. Listen over the air, via streaming on, or on most podcast apps under the name Listening Lyrics.

What can I say; I LOVED THIS SHOW!

Additionally, I'll let you in on a secret, this was the first time that I listened to, not one, but two complete Rap songs -- and enjoyed them. :)

Loved the show and thoroughly enjoyed Cory. Tell him what Michael J Fox once said; "I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business."  He was excellent.
