Music programs are only online for two weeks after they are broadcast.

The Folk Brothers for March 16, 2022: Whales are folks too

Brother Bill is back from Baja, where he spent a week petting baby blue whales ... awww. And he brought in a bunch of whale songs this morning from the likes of Tom Lewis, Country Joe McDonald, Tom Pacheco, and other fishy folkies. We also have Molly Tuttle singing about her grampa's farm, I Draw Slow singing about the coming apocalypse, and Black 47 with Finbar Furey singing about Father Mychal Judge, the first official fatality of 9/11.

Shamrocks and Celtic Songlines March 15th 2022

Each week Celtic Songlines celebrates the music, stories and traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and other Celtic lands.  No green beer on this week's program but you could find a few shamrocks from the band Altan, the trio of Natalie Padilla, Blayne Chastain and Peter Romero, the band Turlough, SoCal's Banshee in the Kitchen, Buddy MacMaster and Natalie, The Clancy Brothers, fiddler Ardan Connelly, Cherish the Ladies, John Doyle and Karan Casey, percussionist Colm Phelan with Sarah Jean Murphy and, finally, a vocal treasure from Judy Garland.

Tune in live on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to noon at KDRT 95.7FM, stream at kdrt.org, or subscribe to the Celtic Songlines podcast on Apple podcasts. The program replays on KDRT each Wednesday 1-2 p.m., Thursday 6-7 p.m., Sunday 4-5 p.m.
