Celtic Songlines Feb 9, 2021- An Interview with Rebecca Lomnicky, Fiddler from Scottish Trio "The Fire"

This week we feature The Fire's new album "Marigold" and interview band member Rebecca Lomnicky. The Fire is a high energy traditional music band that combines world class performances of blazing Scottish music with a distinctly Californian flare. The group includes our guest today  International Scottish Fiddle Champion Rebecca Lomnicky, dynamic bagpiper and multi-instrumentalist David Brewer, and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland graduate Adam Hendey on guitar, bouzouki, and harmonium. All three band members have lived and studied in Scotland, and work together to further contribute to the traditions of Scottish music in America through performances and tours, as well as workshops funded by agencies such as the National Endowment for the Arts.  New releases from artists are a reminder that despite the difficult year musicians continue to create fine music.

Celtic Songlines - Feb 2, 2021 - Something Old/Something New

I hope you join me this week as Celtic Songlines features some amazing musicians such as Ireland's Beoga, Karan Casey & John Doyle, singer extraordinaire Niamh Parsons, from the UK the bands Flook, Salt House and Leveret. The piping of Martyn Bennet and, locally, Tempest alumni the Mullen Jones Project.
