KDRT 95.7 FM is grassroots radio from Davis, CA, airing an eclectic mix of music and public-affairs programming. A project of nonprofit Davis Media Access, KDRT streams worldwide via KDRT.org.

Davis has interesting people, ideas, connections, and events. On Davisville, host Bill Buchanan presents stories that have some connection to Davis. The program has won 17 Excellence in Journalism awards from the San Francisco Press Club since 2018, including first place in radio/podcast public affairs programs for 2025, plus a national Hometown Media Award for excellence from the Alliance for Community Media in 2024. Eye on Sports

Eye On Sports is a talk radio show focused on local sports in the Sacramento/Davis area that occasionally covers National Sports. Hosts Chuck and Cody have been involved with sports both nationally and locally for more than 15 years and want to share their opinions and initiate discussion to the public through conversation and occasional outside interviews. This show will not be politically driven in anyway. The conversation will cover the results , local impact, business and psychology of sports.

Nuestra Musica

Nuestra Musica, Our Music, presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages, and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, "Nuestra Musica" presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guarani, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalan.

Exploration with Michio Kaku

Dr. Kaku

An hour long radio program on science, technology, politics, and the environment. Topics covered include black holes, time travel, higher dimensions, string theory, wormholes, search for extra-terrestial life, dark matter and dark energy, the future of space travel, genetic engineering, the aging process, the future of medicine, the human body shop, artificial intelligence, the future of computers and robots, as well as topics from science fiction.

As Davis grows and evolves, what parts of its history should it keep? Scott Miltenberger, a professional historian who chairs the city’s Historical Resources Management Commission, has suggestions. On today’s program we talk about what "historical resources" are – the term is not just another word for old – and how the criteria are applied, including recently to the Mad Men-era building at 3820 Chiles (pictured in 2015) that will be torn down to make way for housing. We also talk about the closed Freeborn concert hall on campus, how to tell when the desire to preserve history is really just resistance to change, and one of his favorite historic locations in town: the city's first bike lanes.

What a great talent, listen in as Mikey LP along with Mike Stoner talk and play music on this wonderful hour of community radio.

Mikey LP of “Mikey LP & The Krooks”, is a 6 piece line-up ( myself- acoustic guitar/keys/ lead vox, 2 female singers, bass, guitar, & drums) currently wrapping up a new album.

They have performed at many venues throughout the are

Mikey LP is the resident house musician at La Bonne Soupe Cafe in addition to - being a private music instructor (guitar, bass, drums, keys, vox) and is also the Musical Director of The Natomas Evolution ( a student ensemble that performs various tribute shows). As if that isn’t enough Mikey LP is involved in a variety of other projects including working as the pit orchestra guitarist for Sacramento Theatre Company's upcoming production of "Disaster- The Musical."

He grew up in the bay area, college at Sac State in 2001 graduated with my BA in 2006.

Dave Nachmanoff and Pamela Cohen to Discuss the upcoming benifit show for the Purple Tree Cafe. Friday April 5 at 3:30PM

In the studio will be Dave Nachmanoff, Pam Cohen and Adair Savoia to talk about this very exciting event.

Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Nachmanoff will perform a benefit concert for Purple Tree Café on Saturday, April 6, 2019.  The benefit will be held at Watermelon Music's concert space, The Melon Ball in Davis, California.  Nachmanoff will perform songs from his soon-to-be-released CD, “Cerulean Sky".  

Purple Tree Café is a local nonprofit with the dual mission of providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities, and bringing people with and without disabilities together through music, art and community. Purple Tree has been employing people with disabilities to make and sell coffee and vegan and wheat-free baked goods at the Davis Farmers Market and other public and private events since April of 2018. They are currently planning toward their goal of opening a brick-and-mortar cafe.

For those outside of the listening area this show will be streamed live on KDRT.

Farming is a big deal around here. Yolo County is home to one of the best academic ag programs in the world at UC Davis, and the Capay Valley north of Davis is an organic showpiece. Besides, we all eat! We all use materials that come from agriculture. Today’s guest is Brad Hooker, recently of UC Davis, and now the associate editor and founder of the new California bureau in Sacramento for the Agri-Pulse news organization. We talk about water, Silicon Valley’s interest in farming innovations, cannabis as a legal crop, UC Davis research, the importance of data, and other subjects from the ag beat.
