KDRT 95.7 FM is grassroots radio from Davis, CA, airing an eclectic mix of music and public-affairs programming. A project of nonprofit Davis Media Access, KDRT streams worldwide via KDRT.org.

Mapping Healthcare is a radio show and podcast where a medic with a map explores ways in which people around the globe make the world of healthcare better and what we can learn from them. The host is a pediatrician, educator, and researcher who leads programs to help people access high-quality healthcare and stay healthy. All past episodes are archived below. Recurring topics include Davis activities and groups; work and life choices; philosophy and theory; plus birding, cooking, art, and other passions. Lois occasionally breaks into music — from ballads to the slack key sounds of Hawaii to golden oldies rock 'n' roll — but mostly there is just talk.

In the Key of Folk with Karen Leyse offers music that will keep you humming or dancing along — perhaps both! The focus is on traditional and current folk music, Americana, and bluegrass, with Celtic, Nordic, and Spanish infusions — wherever Karen's travels and interests take her. Ryan McKasson (fiddle) Eric McDonald (guitar and vocals) and Jeremiah McLane (accordion) are masters of the Celtic music tradition. Touring nationally, they will appear at the Palms Playhouse in Winters on Friday the 15th. Prior to their Palms show, they drop by the Folk Brothers between 10 and 11 AM on Wednesday the 13th to play some live music as well as chat with Bill and Peter.

The Hip Hop group StnrKrew showed up a little late, but arrived at the 14:30 minute mark. It was a great hour and includes an original rap song performed live.

StnrKrew Music is four artists who love hip hop and a variety of old rock 'n' roll type music, growing up in Las Vegas and different parts of California. DocSinister, JetLagg, MoonChild, and DaVinciiHendriXX have come together accompanied by good friend Dj Morfintime to recreate and reignite the fire in lyrical, punchline, battle rap-style BARs, putting rhythm and raw words together as one to exceed the level set by previous rap legends. With idols such as MacMiller, Tupac, Biggie, Eminem, and so sooooo much more, the bar is set very high!

What a fascinating hour. Songwriter Greg Johnson displays his art and explains his tools. Song writing is knowing music and having a knack for lyrics. Greg explains his best songs are authentic and real. One of his "instruments" he uses is a software program called "Band In A Box", and boy does he know how to use this.
