Music programs are only online for two weeks after they are broadcast.

Album of the Week - October 27, 2021

Released in 2016, STUDIO ONE RADIO SHOW showcases two radio shows from the late 1970s hosted by Winston Williams on JBC Radio in Kingston, Jamaica.  These two broadcasts featured top Studio One releases, including some of the new discomixes that were all the rage during the 70s.  Winston "The Whip" Williams was one of the leading radio personalities and his trademark delivery is one of the highlights of the era.  These shows were aired only once, and the tapes remained in the Studio One vaults for nearly forty years.  A wonderful slice of Jamaican life , these shows are a lost link in the great Reggae heritage unheard outside of Jamaica until now.

SIDE 1:  Sounds of Young Jamaica (Saturday, July 16, 1977) - Featuring Winston Francis, The Boss, Jerry Jones, The Heptones, Winston & Jerry, Ernest Ranglin, Horace Andy, Lloyd Williams, Buring Spear

The Folk Brothers for Oct. 27, 2021: The Clock Winds Down

This morning we debuted a new track, "Clock Winds Down," from Christy Moore's forthcoming album Flying Into Mystery. It's a dystopian take on the effects of climate change as penned by Seattle songwriter Jim Page. Also on today's show: a beautiful, new rendition of Kate McGarrigle's "Talk To Me Of Mendocino" from Karine Polwart and Dave Milligan, as well as new tracks from Dublin's Irish/Americana group I Draw Slow, Glasgow's Assynt, Nashville-based fiddler/realtor Christian Sedelmeyer, and San Francisco-based Noctamble. And much more!
