Steve Cropper is an American guitarist, songwriter, arranger and producer, born 21 October 1941 near Dora, Missouri.

Founding member of both The Mar-Keys (originally named The Royal Spades) in the late 1950s, and Stax' in-house band Booker T & The MG's in the early 1960s. Was successfully active for the label as an A&R manager, musician, one-time solo artist, engineer, producer and songwriter, co-writing classic songs such as Knock On Wood, The Dock Of The Bay and In the Midnight Hour.

On a lark, I landed on your station this evening. Can you please tell me the name of the group featured in your Album of the Week this evening? They were AMAZING!!!

So sorry, but we have no idea what featured on May 8th! There was a last minute DJ change and we think something was played that was archived... it might perhaps have been the initial AotW episode, which was Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

If that wasn't it, reply again and we can maybe try harder to figure it out!
