Celtic Tunes and Song

Featured this week on Celtic Songlines is Prarie Druid Paddy Tutty, jigs and reels with the band Fiddle Case, Quentin Cooper and Mary Casty, Emily Smith & Jamie McClennon, Ashley Davis. Ashly was nominated and selected as a voting member of the Recording Academy. Congratulations and respect, Ashley! Also on the program the band Tannas, fiddler Liz Carroll with guitarist and vocalist John Doyle and, finally, the Young Dubliners.

This week Celtic Songlines will be a bit of this and that with Planxty, a hammer dulcimer or two with tunes and songs from Mary-Grace Autumn Lee and English ballads with the Albion Country Band, The Battlefield Band, accordianist Johnny Connolly, striking interpretation of trad forms from Open the Door for Three, Boys of the Lough, fiddler Bruce MacGregor and Natalia Padilla with Blayne Chastain and Peter Romero. 

A Scottish Session on Celtic Songlines

This week we visit the land of the Scots and their music, traditional and contemporary, with The Whistlebinkies, Dougie MacLean, Papa Shandy, Tannas, a new generation of pipers with Piper.Alley and the Phantom Piper, aka, Jane Eisper, a bit of Burns set to music by Billy Ross and Janet Russell and Edinburgh's Old Blind Dogs.

Appearing this week on Celtic Songlines are vocalist Ashley Davis backed by the late/great Paddy Moloney and, later, Cormac DeBarca, Scotland's Old Blind Dogs, from their album "In Play"  fiddler Liz Carroll and guitarist/vocalist John Doyle, Clannad, Bay Area fiddler Brittany Haas, cellist Natalie Haas with Alasdair Fraser, guitarist Al Petteway, SoCal's Banshee in the Kitchen, local favorite the Donut Exchange and classic trad from the Bothy Band.

A New Album from the band Téada and Traditional Tunes

This week on Celtic Songlines we feature several tunes from "As the Day Brightens" a new release from the band Téada. We lean traditional this week with selections from Cherish the Ladies, Florie Brown & Margie Butler, The Johnston's, the band Oige, Martin Hayes, Billy Mccomiskey, Michaél Ó Heidin,  Natalie MacMaster, Natalie Padilla with Blayne Chastain and Peter Romero, and Solas.
