KDRT Programming Expands

Davis citizens are a mobile bunch, and this means we sometimes have to say good-bye. We offer a fond farewell to DJ AA and Vincent with “Empire Radio,” who have moved on to the Bay Area. Ted and Josh of “The Recollection” are on hiatus at present but rumor has it they plan to return in January. Congratulations to Ted, who welcomed his first son this summer.

The good news here is that change is good, as it opens up new room and opportunities. We have quite a few new shows on KDRT, as well as some old favorites in new spaces. Check the list below to see what's airing on your community radio station, and to see the whole schedule, visit kdrt.org.

Happy Birthday to the 'DRT!

Need some good “street food”? The Street Food Rodeo 2 on Sixth Street just south of the Davis Food Coop promises to satisfy that craving! It will happen from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, and will feature:

So Many Roads: The Golden Road's Annual "Pure Jerry" Show

Tune in to KDRT at 6:00 pm on August 23rd for a special edition of the Golden Road. In this broadcast we will feature a full 2 hour look & listen on the electric, acoustic & vocal creativity of Jerry Garcia's solo work. K-Dirt listeners will be treated to a nice mix of live and in-studio recordings from "the Maestro". We also have an excellent interview with Jerry providing a real cool history of how his passion in "searching for the sound" cultivated his unique & legendary playing style.

A replay of the show will take place on Saturday, August 25th from 3 - 5 pm for those catching the signal from the KDRT antenna locally at 95.7. And of course...you can listen in all around the world at www.kdrt.org or go directly the the Golden Road home page:
