The Golden Road for 7:00pm on Sep 14th, 2018

This week the Golden Road takes us to the Great Pyramid of Giza. That’s right we’re crossing the Great Pond with the Grateful Dead for their September 1978 Egyptian concerts. We find it hard to believe, but these famed gigs were played forty years ago this weekend. While hardly stellar performances by the band, the expedition to Egypt was a trip of a lifetime for the Dead and the many fans who made the journey. And did we mention the September 16th show (tonight’s show), was played under a full moon and a lunar eclipse! We also have music from Mickey Hart’s way cool release The Music of Upper and Lower Egypt to round out this edition of the Golden Road.

Jesse Deere shares an Awesome Playlist Sep 14th, 2018

We had him back in the studio for the whole hour. Jesse Deere returned with a bag full of new songs and artists he has found since his "Dead Wax" days. Jesse has a very good ear to spot new and insightful music. So the playlist is all his. Tune in for a vinyl-centric exploration of Americana, from classic country to roots rock and blues. Check out the playlist below.

Thank you Jesse

Cowboy Tracks for 1:00pm on Sep 14th, 2018

“Western Writers: Top Song Picks.” A few years back, the members of Western Writers of America voted on the Top 100 Western Songs of All Time. This week, DJ Nancy will play her selections from the lower half of the “100” list and then next week, she’ll pull the best of the best from the top half. Because the Top 100 songs were chosen by writers, we’ll focus on the song lyrics and stories.
