Casey Van Beek and the Tulsa Groove Highlighted on KDRT's Silver Nine Volt Heart - Jul 9th, 2020Thu, 07/09/2020 - 7:10pm | RodriguezCasey Van Beek and the Tulsa Groove are veteran musicians whose individual histories include stints with legends like Eric Clapton, Bonnie Riatt, Linda Ronstadt and more. Known for their sultry, laid-back "Tulsa Sound", their new album released in April 2020 called "Heaven Forever" adds their own flavorings, yet is also reminiscent of the sounds of forerunners Leon Russell, JJ Cale and Elvin Bishop. This album, produced by band member Walt Richmond is sponsored by the nonprofit Little Village Foundation, that seeks out music happening in communities created by artists with non-traditional backgrounds, but often deep experience performing. The Little Village Foundation records and produces a CD album free-of-charge as a gift to the musicians and as a means of supporting community-based artists. |
