It's seasonal jazz: Vince Guaraldi's holiday favorites. Nat King Cole and Doris Day do autumn, Mulligan & Desmond, Montgomery, Norah Jones, and Akiyoshi do winter. Ella & Joe Pass, and Earl Hines, do rain, and Lena Horne does Stormy Weather. 

Jazz across six decades tonight:  Sax by Illinois Jacquet, John Coltrane, Johnny Hodges. Piano by Sonny Clark, Ahmad Jamal, Dave Young & Oscar   Peterson. Guitar by Billy Bauer, Joe Pass, and vocals by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Dianne Reeves. 

Featured performer tonight is Clark Terry on trumpet and flugelhorn, paired with Paul Gonsalves, Thelonious Monk, and Chico O’Farrill. Mixed in: some piano by Erroll Garner and Ahmad Jamal, guitar by Gabor Szabo, and then a vocal set featuring Shirley Horn, Dianne Reeves, and Cassandra Wilson. And, of course, something by Ella. 

West Coast cool jazz tonight --  featuring Vince Guaraldi, Art Pepper, Gerry Mulligan, Dave Brubeck, and more. 

An hour of cool and smooth jazz.

Sax and blues tonight, with some sparkling vocals from Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, and the Mills Brothers in between. Bechet, Getz, Adderley, Hodges, Turrentine, Desmond, Mulligan….

Big band, cool jazz, a little bossa nova, and more. Eclectic mix across sixty years tonight.
