Playing from the Cumberland Civic Center, a 10,000 person venue in Portland, ME, tonight's show is a dance party, from start to finish, so get ready...

New Day, New Time New Show

Sounds So Sweet is moving to a different day and time. I'm taking over Friday Nights with 2 (count 'em - 2) music shows. Sounds So Sweet will air live at 9:00 PM Friday night fillin' the air with the sweet sounds of jug band music. Of course if you just can't adjust it will still repeat Sunday at 5:00 PM.

But if you've ever wondered if I listen to anything other than jug band music you can find out at 8:30 PM Friday nights as I debut Outta Style - a quick half hour glimpse into the rest of my musical mind. Check it all out!

See you Friday Night!

Wayne

Outta Style - outta my mind

I've often wanted to play some of the other stuff I enjoy. I think, "I could do a Blues show." Or, "I could do a Bluegrass show." Or "I'd like to play some of the old odd stuff I have that doesn't fit the jug band format." Or "Gosh, I wish I could play some of my Americana or psychedelic stuff." Or..... How about a show maybe called Out of Style where I can play some of whatever I want. A quick half-hour glimpse into my musical mind. I wanted to call it "Wayne's World" but I think that's been taken.

It's just that most music that appeals to me is out of style and I want to be able to not be limited to any one style. I'm likely to play something from the twenties next to a recent release,
an old country hoedown followed by Pharoah Sanders, or a whole show of electric blues, or all vinyl, or just whatever I pick up off the floor.

Join me for a bit of musical mayhem.

Helping Phriendly Hour (2/2/12) - Phish at the Paradiso, Amesterdam, 7/1/1997

Tonight's show is a thick, deep, intense pile of musicality.
It just is.
You may want to put on an extra pair of ears, if you have some laying nearby...

Set I
Ghost, Horn, Ya Mar, Limb By Limb -> Ain't Love Funny, Saw It Again, Dirt, Reba, Dogs Stole Things

Set II
Jam -> Timber Ho > Bathtub Gin -> Cities, Loving Cup > Slave to the Traffic Light

Helping Phriendly Hour, January 26, 2012 - Playing 11-14-1995 U of Central Florida Arena

Helping Phriendly Hour tonight features bluegrass and rock highlights from both sets I and II.

Its a great show not only because it happens to land on my birthday....

...but also this Phish 1.0 show drops smack in the middle of one of the best fall tours ever, in the year that flung the band into rock-star-madness...

...plus it features one of the all-time three best versions of Stash ( take a listen, and just try to suggest otherwise!)...

...plus we haven't heard I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome (a beautiful tune by Bill Monroe) in over a decade, so a loud version of that alone should entice you to tune in!

Set 1: Chalk Dust Torture, Foam, Billy Breathes, Divided Sky, Esther > Free, Julius, I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome, Cavern

Set 2: Maze, Gumbo, Stash -> Manteca -> Stash -> Dog Faced Boy -> Stash, Strange Design, You Enjoy Myself -> Immigrant Song Jam -> You Enjoy Myself

Encore: The Wedge, Rocky Top
