An hour of old jazz favorites tonight!
During the live broadcast of the Golden Road on February 7th at 6:00 pm, we welcome musician, composer, producer, artist and visionary, Bob Bralove of San Francisco. Bob achieved considerable acclaim through his supremely creative work with the Grateful Dead during the late-1980's and early-1990's by essentially integrating modern sound alternatives (such as MIDI) into the live and studio mix of the band.
Bob Bralove is also an accomplished visual artist striving to create mind-expanding acrylic, pen & ink and even computer-generated art. He will open an exhibit of his art at the Davis Cemetery Gallery on Sunday, February 10th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at 820 Pole Line Road here in Davis.
Here is a link for more information on the upcoming art exhibit:

The Golden Road airs live on KDRT each Thursday from 6 - 8 pm.
Adding a playlist can be a bit of a hassle. But once you're used to the new system, it should be easy and streamlined.
First, you need to select the show that you want to add the playlist for. To do this, click your name in the upper right hand corner to bring you to the landing page.
From here, you'll want to click on the track button to view all of the shows and episodes that your name is affiliated with. This will be the DJ name that you have set up in the account settings area. See my previous post for information about this.
Welcome! Recently the KDRT website has switched over to a new way for producers to manage content called Drupl. Drupl is an open source content management software that (hopefully) allows users to easily publish personal information, playlists, blog posts and more! In this entry we will go over some of the basic set up that everyone should know and understand in order to get the most out of the Drupl experience.
First: Set Up An Account
You can use your existing KDRT account to log into the new system and start editing. The log in box is now located at the bottom of the KDRT homepage, so use that to log in.
An hour of jazz standards by some of the great perfomers!
Story telling through song is this weeks theme. We will discuss and play music that really is a musical short story. Listening Lyrics on Friday Feb. 8 2013 at 4:00PM
This weeks show will feature music that reflects on our spiritual side. My in studio guest will be Corey La Rue. Corey is a painter, poet, musician and oh so much more. The reason I have invited Corey is that much of his work reflects his spiritual walk.
Friday at 4:00PM

FRIDAY 4:00PM
This weeks show will feature music that revolves around guns. Thought it might be fun to see what the musical culture has to say.
In addition we will have a call in guest from GUITARS NOT GUNS a non profit organization working with kids. "Using music as a catalyst we encourage children and teens to use their creativity to foster personal development and to help divert them from self-destructive influences such as drugs, alcohol and gang-related activities. By providing free guitars and lessons we hope to engage their creative potential and help them achieve their dreams."
Their web site is www.guitarsnotguns.org
Some songs are familiar, some not - but all are worth a listen.
Focus on jazz guitar tonight!
