When the album Häxan came out last November I was stoked. Not just because it was yet another Dungen album, but also because it was such a good one! It's their only all-instrumental album, which made it feel that much more special ~ finally it truly was all about the music itself! This album is Dungen's imagined score for the gorgeous 1926 Lotte Reiniger's animated film "The Adventures of Prince Achmed."
You can see from the thumbnail that this is going to be an especially challenging Vinyl Vespers service, and so pat yourself on the back in advance for tuning in to Divine Intervention. The rewards will be great--including new and old rock, pop, and otherwise--live this evening, 7-9p Pacific, only on KDRT, where those grass roots (and apparently rose petals) grow.

The California Gold Rush (1848-1855) brought a deluge of people from around the world seeking riches, adventure and new lives. The impact on the soon-to-become State were massive. Naturally, many new songs about the journey and life in the camps and towns were born. The August 4, 2017 episode of "Cowboy Tracks" will feature western songs inspired by the Gold Rush.
