Jazz After Dark September 08 2020

Jazz After Dark presents a special show at 8 pm tonight featuring artists and works from the second volume of Derrick Bang’s new book: Crime and Spy Jazz on Screen. Tonight, we feature music from 1970 (ok, 1969) on.

You’ll hear performances by Shirley Bassey, Marvin Gaye, Isaac Hayes, Lalo Schifrin, Jerry Fielding, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Jimmy Scott, David ‘Fathead’ Newman with Geri Allen & Mark Whitfield, Kansas City Band, Christophe Beck, Louis Armstrong, and Stanley Turrentine.

Featuring selections from Trouble Man, Shaft, Magnum Force and Dirty Harry, The Gauntlet, Mission Impossible, Hot Spot, Twin Peaks, Robert Altman’s Kansas City, The Pink Panther (Steve Martin remake), and, of course: Bond … James Bond.
