Music programs are only online for two weeks after they are broadcast.

Golden Road 2/7/13 with visionary Bob Bralove

During the live broadcast of the Golden Road, we welcome musician, composer, producer, artist and visionary, Bob Bralove of San Francisco.  Bob achieved considerable acclaim through his supremely creative work with the Grateful Dead during the late-1980's and early-1990's by essentially integrating modern sound alternatives (such as MIDI) into the live and studio mix of the band.

Bob Bralove is also an accomplished visual artist striving to create mind-expanding acrylic, pen & ink and even computer-generated art.  He will open an exhibit of his art at the Davis Cemetery Gallery on Sunday, February 10th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at 820 Pole Line Road here in Davis.

Chambers Street Theatre for 11am on Feb 7th, 2013

The 53rd Show.  This week we hear "Two Years Before the Mast," Chapters 1&2.  This story is before the Gold Rush, and there was little hope for a better life by most working people.  Richard Henry Dana Jr. left Harvard because he was having trouble with his eyes.  He went to sea to restore his health.  It was a hard life on board ship.  Sailors often were mistreated.  Dana returned to Harvard to finish his law degree, and later spent much time correcting the wrongs he saw at sea.
