Eliza Gilkyson is a politically minded, poetically gifted singer-songwriter who has become one of the most respected musicians in folk and Americana music circles. The daughter of legendary songwriter Terry Gilkyson, Eliza entered the music world as a teenager, recording demos for her father. Since then she has released 20 recordings of her own, and her songs have been covered by such notables as Joan Baez, Bob Geldof, Tom Rush and Rosanne Cash.

Deana Clifford is the veterinarian for non game, threatened and endangered species at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Epidemiology at UC Davis. She’s also an affiliate of the Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center.
She gave a talk this afternoon at the UC Davis School of Veterinary medicine about how illegal marijuana farms in national forests are impacting local wildlife. We invited her in to talk about that topic and her role as a veterinarian in the effort to address the impacts of these illegal farms. The photos below are referenced in the episode.
