Davisville, Oct. 3, 2016: The Death Café, in DavisMon, 10/03/2016 - 6:50pm | Bill BuchananWe all face it. It could do us some good to talk more about it. That’s the premise behind the Death Café, where people meet without a program, agenda, or speaker, to talk about death. The next Death Café in Davis is Nov. 6, and on today’s show we talk with two people organizing the event: Elizabeth Banks, senior minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, and Kristi Dvorak, community outreach director of the Davis Cemetery District and Arboretum. |

The Bumptet rocks Listening Lyrics on KDRT Sep 30th, 2016Fri, 09/30/2016 - 5:05pm | Pieter PastoorListen now with the BUMPTET in the studio. The Bumptet is a high-octane mix of funk and jazz with a jamband mentality. Their music regularly launches into epic, improvisational sojourns, but not at the expense of arrangements and execution. The group includes some of Sacramento’s finest musicians including Arlyn Anderson, guitar – Barry Eldridge, drums – Andre Fylling, keys – and Jonathan Stoyanoff, bass. The Bumptet is currently in rehearsal for an upcoming EP, which will feature new compositions and concepts the group has been working on. They are also performing in residency at Shine in Sacramento every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month in an effort to build a scene for funk-fusion music. |
