Music programs are only online for two weeks after they are broadcast.

The Golden Road for 7:00pm on Aug 31st, 2018

We here at the Golden Road have dedicated most of August 2018 to celebrating Jerry Garcia and his musical legacy. These past few weeks have been a great ride for us! And guess what? We have room for one more Garcia show this month. And since it is Labor Day Weekend (already? where did summer go?), we thought it a no-brainer that the Golden Road take us to the Merriweather Post Pavilion for music from the Jerry Garcia Band’s 1989 Labor Day concerts. These shows- September 1st & 2nd, 1989- were JGB’s only foray into this legendary amphitheater. Yours truly was at these shows and I can attest they were amazing and that tonight’s recordings captured Jerry at his best! Collectively these very fine JGB shows are known as "Jerryweather."

Cannabis and Music with Rob Read. Aug 31st, 2018

Rob Read joins us this week to talk to us about cannabis. Cannabis and music have a relationship so we also played some related music. Rob is the CEO of the F Street Dispensary in Davis which will open the end of September. Rob is a life long resident of Davis, I might even add a proud Davisitte. Listening Lyrics used the article "Use Weed To Listen To Music" by Andry Bourgue as a base of talking points.

Meraki Radio Ep 8: Leslie & Suman from Nepal

Leslie & Suman are the first lesbian couple to gain residency in Nepal through marriage, and won a supreme court case earlier this year. Leslie talks about some of the mechanics of this process, and Suman provides insight into the Nepalese culture and discusses the varied geographies of the country, as well as their 6 seasons-- currently they are in monsoon season. Francis joins in, and asks some questions about farming in Nepal. Leslie discusses a seed saving project she is working on.

That's Peiter Pastoor

Peiter Pastoor, one of the many hosts and DJs on KDRT, shares his personal history and the evolution of his KDRT show -- Listening Lyrics -- in this lively discussion with Lois.

Did you know that "Dutch", "Holland" and "The Netherlands" all refer to the same place/people? His family left Holland when Peiter was 7, but couldn't get in to the USA. So they moved to Canada and lived there for many years before immigrating to the American plains.

Peiter's stories are fun and fascinating. AND he writes poetry!
