I was sick and missed last week's show (filled in nicely by Alligator), so here is the 11/30 show I was going to play.
The show was late while Ram Rod and crew built the wall of sound. The band was a simple five-piece ensemble -- Jerry, Bobby, Billy, Phil, and Keith -- and they rocked! This is a fun show.

On Nov. 18, 1972, the Grateful Dead rolled in to Houston for a show at Hofheinz Pavilion. By all accounts it was a dynamic show, but only a good chunk of the second set was clearly captured by Owsley. It’s good stuff! Since this show included a superb "Dark Star," we’ll be dropping a classic "Dark Star" from 1969 to complete the program. This primo fall ‘72 performance will give you something to be thankful for.

Last week we heard most of the June 23, 1990 show at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. This week we finish this outstanding show. Then we’ll move to a month later (7/19) at Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, Ind., and finish with what we started on Oct. 5.
Join us. The Grateful Dead at their peak!
