Live Tracks

Live Tracks features a wide range of music, from early '60s rock and rockabilly, to folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz and beyond. The program frequently airs songs from local performances recorded here in Davis. Live Tracks began broadcasting on KDRT on Sept. 30, 2004, and has produced 636 unique programs as of November 2021.  [To be honest, Live Tracks is rather odd.  Just sayin'...]

Live Tracks goes Brazilian with "Som Nosso" concert, Bossa Nova, and more

This edition of Live Tracks features a concert recording of the local Latin jazz group "Som Nosso" (our sound) who played with Yolo Mambo at the Thursday Live! show at the Odd Fellows Hall Feb. 2. An international band, its members hail from Brazil, Sweden, Mexico and Davis. Listeners are also treated to Bossa Nova from the classic "Jazz Samba" recording with Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd circa 1962. To honor International Women's Day, the second hour of Live Tracks highlights several local female singer/songwriters, including Eve West Bessier, Rita Hosking, Megan Smith, Katie Henry, Linda Duval & Cathy Speck.

Hi Jim,
Your show makes for great bike commute music...regarding Daltry & Townsend "cultural" was the Kennedy Center awards...presented by, you guessed it...dubya! Oh, and the Sac. Blues Review number is reminiscent of the Cealis commercial on TeeVee...any connection?? Just wondering, Drt-clod Craig
