Since its inception in 2004, Don Saylor’s Soup’s On event has raised more than $300,000 and increased community awareness for many worthy causes in Yolo County. In 2022, its final year, Soup's On will benefit Davis Media Access and will feature the live music of MUMBO GUMBO.
Soup’s On builds on the tradition that we often gather as a community to enjoy a hearty bowl of warm soup during the cool season, and when someone is in need. Each year, Soup’s On brings together 400 people from the community and organizations to share a meal and jointly support a worthy nonprofit, with 100 percent of event proceeds going to support the selected nonprofit.
This volunteer-run event on Thursday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Veterans Memorial Center, will include a bowl of donated soup for each attendee, live music, a silent auction, and a celebration of the good work provided by Davis Media Access and past recipients throughout Yolo County. KDRT's many programmers and volunteers will be on hand to meet and greet the community.
To ensure that we host a safe event during the pandemic, we will follow all guidelines and recommendations set forth by the Yolo County Public Health Officer as of April 21.
