KDRT invites the community to our 20th anniversary celebration, presented by Davis Media Access and Sudwerk Brewing Co., on Friday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will take place outdoors at the Sudwerk Dock and Hop Yard, 2001 2nd St., with live music by Cowboys After Dark, and opening with Max and Julian of The Big Poppies.
Local artist groups will staff tables, KDRT DJ Preacher will spin tunes chosen by KDRT show hosts to showcase the many sounds of KDRT, and we'll hear some kind words and accolades for our beloved grassroots station. The Dock will have beverages and items from a limited menu for sale.
KDRT, a project of Davis Media Access with studios at 1623 Fifth St., went live for the first time during a community celebration on Sept. 24, 2004, and we've been broadcasting 24/7 ever since! We look forward to many events during this anniversary year to celebrate volunteer community-powered local radio and media. We thank local artist Gregory Shilling @paintinmyblood for the design of the unique 20th anniversary illustration.
