This is our 3rd Thanksgiving show and what are we thankful for? This show covers the verse for children from the 1700's to about 1850. Yes, we are thankful for children who are loved in a family that wanted children. Some verses read today are warnings and others are playful. That was the style of those times. Next week we cover 1850 to now in verse. |

Chambers Street Theatre for 11am on Nov 7th, 2013Thu, 11/07/2013 - 11:35am | Ruth ChambersRuth does the first of the Thanksgiving shows. The idea is to have more 'thanks' during the month so she starts with a "Thanksgiving Praise" then moves on to the Mark Twain story of being lost in the snow. Obviously Twain did not die and moved on to writing "Tom Sawyer," "Huck Finn," and "Roughing It." |
Chambers Street Theatre for 11am on Oct 31st, 2013Thu, 10/31/2013 - 11:35am | Ruth ChambersIt's October 31st, Halloween, and we're doing a repeat of the "Tarantula Show." Ruth starts with "what are Tarantulas" from Wikipedia then it's on to "Roughing It" by Mark Twain and his time in Carson City before he was famous. He's in a dorm like third floor with other men and the Tarantulas get out in the dark, of course. Lot's of fun. |
