Silver Nine Volt Heart speaks with Maurice Tani, Jan. 26, 2023

DJ Rodriquez invites you to tune in to Silver Nine Volt Heart from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 for a live interview with Bay Area musician Maurice Tani. This special broadcast highlights the sounds from Maurice's new album, All In, on the Little Village Foundation record label.

After a long career playing with legendary Bay Area bands such as The Flamin' Groovies, Big Bang Beat and the Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, Maurice has embarked upon a new trail of solo creativity he calls "Americana, without limits." We speak with him about his new adventures and his plans for the upcoming live performance at the Thursday Live! concert at the Odd Fellows Hall in Davis on Feb. 2.

Rod-

I'm a fan of yr show for a few years now. Thanks especially for yr tribute tracks & whole shows focused on the Band. I've been a Band fan, & especially a big Garth Hudson fan for years. The first Band albums & the "official" first Basement Tapes 2 LPs really nailed me.  Never saw the Band, sadly.  But this week, I've repeatedly just marveled & marveled as I just scrolled down the long long list on "Credits" for Garth @ All Music online. I'm wondering if you've looked there. Its stunned me.  If you have or do  --  Are there any entries there of his recorded appearances & studio work that especially stand out or you'd put on future shows?

Los Lobos' first album was "Los Lobos del Este de Los Angeles (Just another band from East L.A.)" (1978)

Greetings and Salutations Rodriguez,

Thanks for playing The Grateful Dead. As a dead person myself, I could really relate to the sentiment of Playing In The Band. In the end, each of us has a particular note to play in the web of life. Your repeated dedication to The Dead and bygones long ago, keep you qualified to remain amongst the living as a true Champion! May Your Bones Rest Easy In The KDRT!

Gratefully,

The Alchemist
