Tonight on Jazz After Dark: the 1940s, with Mary Lou Williams' Girl Stars, Dizzy Gillespie with the Stan Getz Sextet, Louis Armstrong & Billie Holiday, and Earl Hines. Then 1955-6 with Herbie Mann, Herbie Nichols, Ella Fitzgerald, the Oscar Peterson Trio, and the Claude Williamson Trio.  From 1962-3 we'll hear Sam Lazar, Charlie Byrd, and McCoy Tyner, and then Milcho Leviev takes it out with a 2006 version of Blues in Elf by Don Ellis.

Tonight on Jazz After Dark: Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra with Harry James, all from 1938-9. Then Phineas Newborn Jr. and the All Stars, some soul jazz from The Jimmy Giuffre 3. Horace Silver, Art Pepper & George Cables, Dave Turner with Guido Basso, Stanley Jordan, Buddy DeFranco with Terry Gibbs, and The Duke Robillard Jazz Trio.

called, "Davis Jazz Night." At the John Natsoulas Art Gallery 521 1St. downtown Davis. 700:-9:00

monthly, EVERY last Friday. Always hosted by a Davis semi-pro community 12-piece jazz band called "The New Harmony Jazz Band." Thank you.
