Hello Heapies -
A bizarre but entertaining show to be sure. As I began the show, it was raining ever so lightly, just a spot here and there...and it got slowly heavier and heavier, becoming quite steady with the set of jazz that began with Bill Frisell, Dave Holland and Elvin Jones. By the time we got to "Shoot Out the Lights" by Richard and Linda Thompson, it was pouring and I could see the gutters on fifth Street running about 2 feet wide with water. And when we finished up, it was fairly torrential. Here's a great clip of Richard Thompson doing "Shoot Out the Lights" with Elvis Costello from 2009 - I love those smashing opening of chords - Enjoy.
