(This program was played for three weeks -- 12/17, 12/24, and 12/31/20 -- for a winter break.)
Seasonal music from CDs donated to a KDRT fundraiser and gotten by Lois afterward to use in December shows.
We start with "Omnis mundus jocundetur" performed by Choir of East Helsinki Music Institute (on YliesRadio) and "Traditional carols from the Tatras Mountains" performed by Jan Karpiel Group (on Polish Radio). Both are off the CD "Music for Christmas: A concert of festive music from around Europe" (a BBC special compilation CD of live or radio performances -- 25 songs, with only 2 sung in English.)
Then the 16th century "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" preceded by 20th century "Hark, the Herald Trumpets Sing!" performed by Mannheim Steamroller off their 1988 CD "A Fresh Aire Christmas by Chip Davis" (from the American Gramaphone Records Fresh Aire series). We also hear about this company's creation and widely enjoyed offerings. Then "Traditions of Christmas" written and performed by Chip Davis (also from a Mannheim Steamroller CD).
Susan Boyle sings "Do You Hear What I Hear?" off her CD "The Gift".
The Boston Camerata and Joel Cohen perform "I Wonder as I Wander" off CD "An American Christmas".
In a totally different strain, Barefoot Man and Friends perform "Please Daddy, Don't Get Drunk this Christmas" and "Dashing thru the Sand" on his "Christmas on an Island" CD.
MaryAnn and the Cosmic Harp performs "Greensleeves" on her 2007 "Christmas Restored" CD.
"Amazing Grace" is from the CD "Tis the Season: Christmas Angels: A collection of Comforting Holiday Classics".
Finally, the New York Harp Ensemble performed "Adagio" on the CD "A Christmas Celebration: A Collection of Brass, String, and Choral Favorites, volume 2" from the series "Music Masters Cllassics".
