Bill, thanks for hosting Cindy. This really is an important service to a vulnerable population and Cindy is doing an amazing job. It seems most of the backlash against homeless services in Davis is really a result of prejudice -- people making assumptions about homelessness and not actually getting to know the names and stories behind the faces. Our community really needs to come together and serve those in need -- ongoing battles between churches and the city over who can be served and how they can be served and how many people can be served are not only counterproductive, but certainly outside the bounds of what the city should be doing (and dangerously close to trampling on religious freedoms).
