On this edition of the Electric Compost Heap, we welcome guests David Horning and Kyle Monhollen from the Davis Live Music Collective - http://davislivemusic.com - to share music and stories about Jon Langford and Walter Salas-Humara, who will be playing at a house concert in Davis on Monday, October 8th, 2012. They will also be joined by Roger Knox and Jean Cook. Jon Langford hit the UK music scene in 1977 as a member of the Mekons, a band he still performs with today. After to moving to Chicago in the 1990's, Jon followed his Americana-fueled muse and founded the Sadies, Skull Orchard, the Pine Valley Cosmonauts and, of course, the rollicking Waco Brothers. Jon is also visual artist and painter. Walter Salas-Humara co-founded the Silos in 1985 and developed into an amazing songwriter. He still performs with the Silos, as a solo artist, and with many side projects, including I'm Not Jim. We Davis dwellers are blessed to have these immensely talented folks playing in a small setting right here in town after their visit to SF and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. Hope you enjoy the show!
