Yolo Backyard Bulletin (YBB) seeks to address the ongoing demolition of local media by the communications/entertainment complex, which prioritizes profit maximization at the expense of local engagement and conversation. YBB features local news, commentary, music, gossip, and true stories from Yolo County, with the goal of rebuilding and restoring community communications in our public sphere, the lifeblood of democratic life.
Guests on YBB come from a wide variety of sources and backgrounds to share news and views about what’s going down in our community. We don’t pretend there are no conflicts here in Yolo, but we strive to engage respectfully and constructively to discuss our differences. Our mantra remains the old journalist watchwords however: "To comfort the afflicted, and to afflict the comfortable."
Listen to YBB live from 5 to 6 p.m. every Thursday evening on KDRT 95.7 FM, Davis, and online and podcast at KDRT.org.
We endorse that old adage: "If you don’t like the news, go out and make some of your own!"
