The California Gold Rush (1848-1855) brought a deluge of people from around the world seeking riches, adventure and new lives. The impact on the soon-to-become State were massive. Naturally, many new songs about the journey and life in the camps and towns were born. The August 4, 2017 episode of "Cowboy Tracks" will feature western songs inspired by the Gold Rush.

Country and western music used to be played on the same radio stations, but they're not the same music styles. Can you tell the difference between Cowboy songs and Country songs?
