Cowboy/western music and poetry CDs come to Nancy via the mail at the KDRT radio station. The CDs are sent in by artists or their representatives and Nancy says there are always trreasures to be discovered and enjoyed. The August 25th, 2017 episode of Cowboy Tracks will feature these gems from the mailbox.
Nancy is just back from 2-1/2 days immersed in verse and song at the 30th year of the Arizona Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering. She'll talk about the event and play a sampler of music and poems by artists who performed at the Gathering. Lots of great material for you to enjoy!
The California Gold Rush (1848-1855) brought a deluge of people from around the world seeking riches, adventure and new lives. The impact on the soon-to-become State were massive. Naturally, many new songs about the journey and life in the camps and towns were born. The August 4, 2017 episode of "Cowboy Tracks" will feature western songs inspired by the Gold Rush.
