Today In the Key of Folk will feature several Scandinavian bands and their offshoots, including the new EP release by Ridvall Mjelva Carr; and also tracks from Dreamer's Circus; La Bottine Souriante (what!?!), and perhaps the Nordic Fiddlers Bloc. We'll also cover some newish duos, both U.S. and Canadian, and at least one tune from the Celtic fiddlers featured on Ken Burn's new PBS program, American Revolution. Then we'll walk down a dark twisty trail to visit with some rather sinister songs of long ago, all in honor of this Friday. Traditional, but not always so sweet. Enjoy, my little dearies!

It's almost In the Key of Folk time again. When, you ask? We are live at 2 p.m. every Wednesday, and that's today! We'll include new releases from the world of contra dance and Quebecois musicians, featuring Eloise & Co, the Engine Room, and Le Vent du Nord. We'll also play tracks from 1st nations singer William Prince; the Irish brothers band, Ye Vagabonds; more from Carla Gover's new album Kentucky Queen; along with past tunes from other folksters. So many new releases, so little time! So tune into In the Key of Folk today at 2 p.m. if you want to catch some of them! We'll start of with one of several new tracks released yesterday by I'm With Her, and follow up with a variety of new tracks by new musicians and well-known bands, including Le Vent du Nord, Adler and Hearne (with Eliza Gilkyson), Carla Gover, Holdsotck, Clegg & Pratt, and Elexa Dawson. And not all tracks are new, as we incude tracks by John Doyle, The Real Sarahs, Paddy on the Binge, Cantrip and more.
