Big band, cool jazz, a little bossa nova, and more. Eclectic mix across sixty years tonight.
Join us for a plush side trip down the Golden Road as Bob Bralove, former member of The Grateful Dead and sound sculptor extraordinare, discusses his upcoming live exploratory experience at the Davis Cemetery Gallery 1 to 4 pm on October 13. For the performance, Bob will be joined by Robin Sylvester and Dave Amato to round out the Bob Bralove Psychedelic Cabaret.
This will be Bob Bralove's second live interview on KDRT. He is an excellent touchstone & storyteller for any fan of The Grateful Dead through his experiences and direct contributions to the band that were captured both in the recording studio and live on stage ... and of course, Bob's own excellent improvisational sounds.Bob Bralove's website

We are all in for a treat this coming Friday. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform this past week. Harmony and exceptional song writting skills sets the TREE-O apart.
Listening Lyrics started in late August 2012 but we are not counting the few first shows (call it the learning curve). A year into the show and with 25 guests interviewed you might say Jeanne and I have found a format we are comfortable with. To put it into perspective we are having a blast. On top of that our guests are given a full hour to share their story and their talent. For me personally its like spending one hour a week on the psychiatrists couch, I leave the studio pumped up and ready for the week-end. Yep, usually head to a watering hole to down a beer or two after the show.
In addition the show has given me a rare glimpse into the talent, dedication and fascinating lives of the guests on the show. So this week we will be playing some tunes and poems of previous guests while Jeanne and I sip some bubbly wine. Tune in and share the year with us.

Tune in for a full-tilt & righteously soulful edition of The Grapevine on Sept 18 at 6 pm, when host Rod Moseanko will be joined by Michael "MJ" Johnson, who'll take us higher & higher with the mighty Godfather of Soul ... "Butane" James Brown. This, K-DIRT listeners, will be the real thing! If you are local, then peg it at 95.7 ... and if you're out of the frequency range, then catch the groove by streaming in at www.kdrt.org
Here's the playlist from the broadcast, K-Dirt listeners!
