Today on In the Key of Folk: Nirvana can be defined as "a place of complete bliss and delight and peace." I'm going to say that many of us felt that when we were there at Bill's house concerts. Bill was always gracious, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in all of us. He made us feel welcome. The musicians who graced his living room became his friends, those of us who came to listen often became like family. Today In the Key of Folk will feature several Scandinavian bands and their offshoots, including the new EP release by Ridvall Mjelva Carr; and also tracks from Dreamer's Circus; La Bottine Souriante (what!?!), and perhaps the Nordic Fiddlers Bloc. We'll also cover some newish duos, both U.S. and Canadian, and at least one tune from the Celtic fiddlers featured on Ken Burn's new PBS program, American Revolution. So many new releases, so little time! So tune into In the Key of Folk today at 2 p.m. if you want to catch some of them! We'll start of with one of several new tracks released yesterday by I'm With Her, and follow up with a variety of new tracks by new musicians and well-known bands, including Le Vent du Nord, Adler and Hearne (with Eliza Gilkyson), Carla Gover, Holdsotck, Clegg & Pratt, and Elexa Dawson. And not all tracks are new, as we incude tracks by John Doyle, The Real Sarahs, Paddy on the Binge, Cantrip and more.
