On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 21-23, 2009 at the Davis Art Center in Davis, Ca, there will be three days of exciting music making and concerts for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced string players of all ages. Students will experience a variety of styles and learn tunes taught by ear. Instructors will include:
Richard Greene of violin in rock music, a bluegrass fiddle player since l966, and one of the first to pioneer the use of the violin in rock music.
Fabrice Martinez, renowned gypsy fiddler and Djordje Stilpovic, bassist, both of the local phenom Fishtank Ensemble.
William Coulter, player of traditional music for the guitar for over 20 years, from santa Cruz.
Bill Edwards, local guitarists who has been performing locally for over 40 years.
Eric Anderson, an expert guitarist and fiddler, Eric was the 2006 Adult California State Fiddle Champion .
Ursula Knudsen, Musical Sawyer who performs with the Fishtank Ensemble and
others.
Florie Brown, Davis resident and formerly fiddler with the Celtic musical group, Golden Bough for over 15 years.
Concerts: all beginning at 7:00 pm at the Davis Art Center, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.
