With the recent passing of Richard Wright and Merle Saunders, the world lost two premier keyboard musicians. Wright was a founding member of Pink Floyd, and was instrumental in creating that band’s distinctive sound for over 40 years. Saunders, in addition to his many solo and ensemble projects, was a frequent collaborator with Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. The stories and music of these two musicians will be featured along with those of deceased Grateful Dead keyboard players Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, Keith Godchaux, Brent Mydland, and Vince Welnick. And there will, of course, be a few surprises!
The special combined Magical Music Box and Golden Road show will air Sunday, December 14 at 7-9 p.m., with replays on Friday, December 19 at 10-12 midnight and Saturday, December 20 at 3-5 p.m.
