Transcontinental Railroad

This special episode of “Cowboy Tracks” will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first Transcontinental Railroad.  On May 10, 1869 the Golden Spike was driven into the rail track at Promontory Summit, Utah signaling the completion of the first American transcontinental railroad. This is considered the single most significant engineering achievement of the entire 19th century and it forever altered the development of the West. Hear about the railway’s history through words and music on the April 26 “Cowboy Tracks.”
