Jazz After Dark October 28th, 2014

Back to basics tonight, with some well-known jazz numbers. Some are historic, like Billie Holiday at Carnegie Hall, or Ella singing with the Mills Brothers very early in her career. Others are pieces classically associated with their artist, like In the Mood by Glenn Miller and Body and Soul by Coleman Hawkins, Round Midnight by Thelonious Monk, and Take Five by Dave Brubeck. It’s the golden age of jazz, from the 1930’s to the early 1960’s.
