Alex Volzer joins David Abramson on Hello Davis! for a conversation about the health of Yolo County’s creeks, environmental challenges, and the future of climate restoration in our region.
Alex has completed his undergraduate studies and is currently pursuing a doctorate in human geography. The devastating wildfires in Lake County and Paradise helped shape his belief that environmental protection and economic development must go hand in hand. He advocates for sustainable solutions that reduce pollution, protect natural resources, and involve communities in open, democratic decision-making.
Alex is currently writing a book exploring what northern Yolo County can do to restore its environment and address climate challenges. In his spare time, he volunteers with Yolo Creek Protectors, a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting Cache Creek and Putah Creek from environmentally damaging activities.
Join us for a thoughtful discussion about the health of our waterways, the challenges facing our environment, and what local communities can do to make a difference.
