25. Pandemics

An epidemic is when an unusually large number of people get a disease at the same time. When an epidemic spreads across many continents or through much of the world it is called a pandemic. Epidemics and pandemics can spread quickly and affect millions of people, but the good news is that they eventually come to an end. Hear about Dr. Dean Blumberg's work as a pediatric infectious disease specialist at UC Davis Health.
