This edition of The Golden Road highlights a couple of multi-track releases from the year of 1980. First up is a recording from Radio City Music Hall that was released as a bonus disc from the soundtrack to "Dead Ahead", and also some selected cuts from "Go To Nassau" which captures a real strong performance in a building where the Grateful Dead typically played very well to their Long Island fans.
Also included in this broadcast are some totally improvised sounds from Ken Nordine, Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Jim Kerwin and Yolo County's own Joe Craven that were released on a record called "Devout Catalyst". This is "Word Jazz" with a wonderful Northern California touch.
And last, but not least, you will find a little something at the top of the show to help celebrate my enduring (and often soul wrenching!) love affair with the San Francisco Giants.
