Community Impact



Ongoing Achievements

  • Since Fall of 2004, we have trained hundreds of community members and students in our wheelchair-accessible facility. Ranging in age from 8 to 80, many of these former trainees now serve as our volunteer programmers, DJs on KDRT 95.7 LP-FM community radio,  and staff members.

     
  • Since January 2005, we've broadcast more than 700 public affairs shows featuring a range of in-studio guests, including world-renowned scientists, filmmakers, artists and performers, best-selling authors, mayors and city managers, city council candidates, UC Davis chancellors,  and many local heroes, such as homeless activities. 

     
  • Since 2005, more than 40 local businesses have contributed as KDRT underwriters.

     
  • We continue to broadcast live from community events, including the Whole Earth Festive and Davis's Fourth of July celebration.

Significant Projects

  • We organized and hosted the 2005 LPFM Radio Roundup--a gathering of more than 90 LPFM radio staff and volunteers from three states held on the UC Davis campus--the first independent LPFM conference.
