The King of the Blues, B.B. King , will return to Jackson Hall on Sunday, November 4 at 7 p.m. His reign has been as long as that of any monarch on earth. King continues to wear his crown well, singing and playing the blues with relentless passion, thrilling audiences and influencing generations. Since King started recording in the late 1940's, he has released over 60 albums many of them considered blues classics, like 1965's definitive live blues album Live At The Regal and 1976's collaboration with Bobby "Blue" Bland, Together For The First Time. Over the years, B.B. has developed one of the world's most readily identified guitar styles. His economy, his “every note counts” phrasing, has been a model for thousands of players including Eric Clapton, George Harrison and Jeff Beck.
Throughout his career Arlo Guthrie has honored his father in song as well as in life. On Friday, April 19, 2013 at 8 p.m. Guthrie will bring his new solo tour, Here Comes The Kid, an unforgettable night of music and stories confirming that the folk tradition of Woody is alive and well, to Jackson Hall. With the centennial of Woody Guthrie’s 100th birthday in 2012, Arlo continues the celebration of Woody’s immeasurable contributions to the landscape of American folk music.
