Ephraim George (clarinet) is a veteran of the vibrant San Francisco jazz scene of the 1950s & 1960s, and was acquainted with some of the first generation New Orleans and Chicago jazz giants: Pops Foster, Kid Ory, Darnell Howard and Earl Hines. George performed with the Golden Gate Jazz Band in the 1970s. He, Ken and Bob Armstrong formed the El Rado Scufflers trio in 2002, now a quartet with the ubiquitous Steve O'Neill on bass.

Ken Kemmerling (piano & vocals) began his local musical career in 1975, playing at potlucks and Bohemian parties with Julie Partansky. They were co-founders of the Blue Mango Cooperative Restaurant & Coffee House in October 1979 and were co-leaders of the original house jazz combo. Ken has performed on solo piano and in various groups over the past 35 years, currently playing piano Saturday evenings at Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, and three times per week at Davis Community Meals with Donna Wren on violin.
