In this edition of The Grapevine, it's Blues night...but with a very special and cool twist...we are gonna shine a big ol' KDRT spotlight on one of the best records to come down the road in a long, long time, Dave Alvin's, "11/11".
I have cherry-picked a few tracks from this outstanding album in previous broadcasts but this time wanted to play as much of it as I could time permitting. In anticipation of a solid sender show coming up at The Palms (Gene Taylor Blues Band, featuring Dave Alvin) I also included a couple of tunes by The Blasters to highlight the classic piano work by Gene Taylor...one of the last great barrelhouse blues players.
