It's Dead Wax Episode 15! The Grateful Dead were more than a Rock band. They played Jazz, Blues, Soul, Bluegrass, and Classic Country. Today, we're going to feature classic country tunes that the Dead covered over the years. We'll play the original, classic country tune, and then follow it with the Grateful Dead cover. We'll hear from Hank Williams, George Jones, Marty Robbins, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson w/Kris Kristofferson. The Dead do all of these artists justice with their live performances of some of the most famous country tunes of all time.
