We are still in "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," and Huck and Tom meet up again. Together they are going to free Jim. With Tom comes his very involved "freeing" plot that Tom believes is the way to do things. It's good to remember that Twain meant this book to be a boys adventure book, and the Tom character is based on a real child from Twain's past.
